Under New Ownership
Sugar Spoon Candies
Megan and her husband took over Sugar Spoon from longtime owner Gayle in September. The fudge is still made by hand, the chocolates are still hand-dipped, and the retro candy wall hasn’t gone anywhere. The Magill’s ice cream case has moved up front, the shop is now open seven days a week, and Castle Rock residents get a free scoop on their birthday.

If You Haven’t Tried It Yet
Izumi Sushi
Downtown’s newest sushi bar opened in May on Third Street. Owner Manna Pan, who also runs the Izumi in Littleton, serves fish that has never been frozen, including bluefin tuna, so it’s worth asking what came in fresh before you order.
